Mixing Tradition and Development at the Ballybunion Golf Club The Old Course
When it comes to the ideal golf vacation spots in Ireland, the Southwest area is riddled with amazing golf courses filled with great links and stunning views. In these parts you will see Ireland's most sought after golf course all eager to line up for some tee time, the Ballybunion Golf Club, particularly its old course.
Many popular names in the world of golf have experienced the wondrous allure of Ballybunion and have continually used it as a warm up course to unwind and relax before The Open. Names like Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Tiger Woods and Tom Watson has registered in its log book and has provided great reviews and comments to this wondrous and mesmerizing Irish golf vacation spot.
Being the millennium captain of the Ballybunion Golf Club, Tom Watson said that it is one of the best and most beautiful tests of links he has played in, having played there since 1981.
Here in the old golf course, you will find very challenging links where the winds are constant factors and the land is surrounded by the captivating view of the Atlantic.
Opened in August 18, 1893, the Ballybunion Golf Club has had its shares of ups and downs. In its early days, the Ballybunion Golf Club did not enjoy the popularity it does today and has fallen into financial oblivion. Its first 8 years reeled the course to its all time low and was soon revived only by the changing of the officers of the club.
As more developments and land links were laid out, the reputation of the Ballybunion Golf Club grew and grew. By 1926, the course had plans to extend to a full 18 holes, barely a year after, those plans were realized. Its national level of recognition started in 1932 when the Irish Ladies Championship was held there. Five years after, Irish Mens Close Amateur Championship followed suit.
Its first most significant level of competition came at 1957 when the course was chosen as the venue for the Irish Professional Championship. Soon after, waves of other competitions and golf organizations recognized its high quality links and have given it high accolades.
After more than 60 years, the Ballybunion Golf Club finally got the recognition it so rightly deserves and things were never quite the same. Golfers now come in droves from all over the world to experience what the lucky Irish people have had for more than a century now. The Ballybunion Golf Club would always be recognized as Ireland's greatest golf vacationing spot.
But aside from its majestic and amazing rolling dunes, and the mesmerizing backdrop set by the Atlantic Ocean, the tradition and culture that has made Ballybunion Golf Club what it is today is what keeps the people coming in.
Plus, it has world class amenities that can cater to the needs of so many golfers from all over the world. There you would find a newly built clubhouse that has a dining room that can seat 120 persons, two bars and some very relaxing lounge areas. There is also a Pro Golf Shop that carries every golfing needs that you may have. Also, being a championship golf course, you will be able to find some practice facilities such as; Putting Greens, A Sand Bunker Practice facility, Driving Range, and a Chipping Green.
Ballybunion Golf Club is located at Sandhill Road., Ballybunion, Country Kerry, Ireland. For the greatest golf vacation spot in Ireland, this is a century old choice for the pros.

Neutral = Straight -There are two key alignments to strive for at the top of the swing that will make hitting fairways much easier. The most important of the two is the clubface position, which should be square (the leading edge basically is parallel to the left arm). Learning this position will remove the need to compensate on the downswing with the hands. Positioning the club parallel to the target line is also extremely important.
Practice anytime and anywhere with a good golf cage today!

Sometimes you can find a brand new set of clubs for less than what that set is selling for used. How does this happen? Say someone buys a set and decides to sell it a year or two later. The set may be in great shape and can justifiably be priced high. But in the meantime, the manufacturer may have steeply discounted new sets due to high inventory, discontinued production or numerous other reasons.
Practice your golf game anywhere with a great golf mat.

Clone Golf Club
By Chad Hoffmann
With name brand golf clubs costing a good part of your paycheck, clone golf clubs have gained favor with many weekend golfers that are looking for an edge. With new technology advancements, the clone golf club has been able to compete with the likes of Callaway, Nike, Taylor Made, and other top brand clubs. The clone golf club is the most popular way that golfers are improving their game.
What is a clone golf club? Take the Nike clone golf club. Many golf club manufacturers that are in the business of making clones will take a brand name club like Nike and reverse engineer the club. This means that the clone golf club is taken apart and analyzed by engineers to find the materials and any special geometry that are being used. Once a base line is established for the clone golf club, the clone golf club manufacturer will very carefully, judiciously avoiding claims made by competing patents, make a "knockoff" or "clone" golf club that is based on the same or similar technology as our Nike. The benefit to the golfer is lower cost for the clone golf club without sacrificing performance.
The looks of clone golf clubs are also improving. Take the Acer XP 905 set of clone golf club irons. They look as good as any brand name Callaway or Nike. A golfer will not feel like a second-rate player with a set of clone golf clubs in his or her bag. The best way to try these clone golf clubs is to demo a clone club at your local golf retailer.

The shove type: The word shove is misleading. An actual shove is illegal. It's only a feel. What gives this shove feel is the stroke is made with a very short backswing and a long followthrough. The advantage of this type of stroke is the shorter the backswing, the less chance of error.

Golf Playing Tips: Learn How To Play Golf In 5 Easy Ways
By: Sean Cochran
For people who are into playing golf, nothing matters most for them than to have a better score when playing the game. This is because most golfers usually take their gratifications in the scores that they make.
Therefore, for people who want to increase their playing skill, here is a list of some tips that they can use to improve their gaming performance.
1. Pump up before the game starts
Every golfer must first learn the things they have to do before they play the game. The problem with most players is that they tend to think that since golf is not a very strenuous sport like basketball, they dont have to do some warm up exercises.
This should not be the case because golfers need to warm up and stretch those muscles before they start making double bogeys.
2. Swinging is a perfect exercise
In golf, the most pressured and the most exerted part of the body are the hands. Hence, it is important to exercise them before playing the game.
Swinging can effectively pull out any stressed or rigid muscle in the hand. Its best to keep on practicing swinging. Experts say that almost 50% of a golfers ability is based on swinging.
3. Consider the size of the club
In order to play the best golf game, it is important for a player to choose the right golf club that he or she will use. The first to consider when choosing a golf club is its length. The length should be proportionate and suitable to the player so that he or she will be comfortable when playing.
4. Familiarize the six parts of golf swings.
In order to play best in golf, it is important for a player to familiarize himself or herself on the six parts of the golf swing technique. The six parts of the swing are the proper alignment of the golf club; proper setup of the golfers posture and position; back swing; take-away; impact; and the follow-through.
5. Know the course
A good golfer should know his or her terrain. Hence, it is important for a golfer to note the so-called trouble areas. This is where some imminent problems are present like a sloping part of the fairway or hanging branch of a tree.
These are just some of the basic tips that one could use in playing golf. However, the most important thing a golfer should remember is to keep his or her body healthy before the competition. Its where they generate their power for that beautiful back swing.

Internships Help Golf School Graduates Find Jobs
by Andy West
San Diego Golf Academy, a network of five golf schools with a long-standing reputation for quality golf education, knows the important role that internships play in the placement of their program graduates. As part of their educational program, SDGA offers internships that relate to golf careers: for example, internships with Troon Golf, the world leader in luxury golf resorts, are available to students at all SDGA locations.
But why do golf schools such as San Diego Golf Academy go out of their way to provide their students with the on-the-job training and experience they get from an internship? As Paul Zagnoni, President of SDGA, tells it, internships bridge the gap between an education and a livelihood.
'Participating in an internship is an important part of preparing for a golf career,' said Zagnoni. 'Internships allow students to experience firsthand what golf jobs are like, as well as providing hands-on experience that will help students find golf jobs after graduation.'
Troon Golfs internships, which are available to 3rd and 4th semester students at all San Diego Golf Academy golf schools, will allow students to experience a variety of golf jobs. Although interns will be paid only minimum wage for 20 hours of work per week, the 12-week programs are worth much more than the income they generate: students will find out firsthand what a golf career will be like.
Internships also allow golf school students to learn about the employers in their field. An internship with Troon Golf, a company that prides itself on providing the best golfing experience that money can buy, allows students to see how a luxury golf resort operates - from its five-star service to its superior playing facilities and equipment. Regardless of whether the students pursue golf jobs in the same field after graduation, having interned with such a distinguished company will open many doors for them.
Many golf schools, such as San Diego Golf Academy, also provide students and graduates with an important resource to help them find golf jobs and internships: a guaranteed job placement service. GolFutures, SDGAs golf employment company, successfully places more than 85% of their graduates in golf jobs. In addition to providing golf internships for the students, many golf resorts and other employers - such as Troon Golf - list golf job openings with the schools placement office.
There are many factors that go into a successful golf career. Although education from a good golf school is important, it is actually job experience that opens doors in the field. For this reason, internships are an important part of the golf school experience, as they give students the opportunity to gain job experience prior to graduation.

If you plan to choose used golfclubs as beginner's tools, scrutinizing before purchasing is a must. The clubheads, the shafts, and the grips are golfclub parts that should pass inspection first before landing a decent spot in your golf equipment cabinet. Another excellent golf tip that will get you through the game is making sure that the set of used golfclubs you're eyeing have set consistency. It will also help a lot if you check first the price of new clubs vs. used.

Mathematically a longer arc should create more clubhead speed. Not so,unless done correctly. Overswinging will definitely throw the clubhead in a very poor planeswing. How far should you take the club back? Only as far as you can turn your shoulders-with balance. If the club goes back farther than the shoulders, the left wrist will break down. This will not only open or close the clubface but will take the pulling action away from the legs, thus allowing the shoulders or hands,or both to take over and dominate the forward swing. This type of motion puts the club in an outside-in plane (Over the top).

Choosing a Golf Club
By: Jay Moncliff
Choosing a golf club can be very difficult if you are an experienced, much less a beginner. The reason finding the right golf club is so hard is because there are so many types, designs, and features you have to consider in correlation to your skill, swing and needs. The following golf club overview might help you choose the right golf club for you, or at least narrow it down.
Cast Iron Golf Club
The cast iron golf club is made from cast iron and the majority of the weight of the golf club is around the perimeter. Because of this the sweet spot is larger and this type of golf club is really great for beginners or those who have trouble making full contact.
Forged Iron Golf Club
The forged iron golf club is generally used by professionals simply because of its design and function. The center of the golf club is the center of gravity and the front of the club is a bit heavier. If you are an experienced player then you might consider a forged iron golf club.
Also, you will need to choose a size for your golf club as well from standard to midsize or oversized.
The standard club is smaller, so the sweet spot is as well. Generally professionals and advanced players use a standard club.
Midsize golf clubs are great because they have a bigger sweet spot and are a bit larger than the standard golf club. Average players frequently use midsize golf clubs because they are easy to control and have a larger sweet spot.
Oversized golf clubs are generally used by seniors and individuals who have a hard time hitting the ball straight on. The one problem with these clubs is they can be difficult to control. The bonus, a huge sweet spot so when you make contact your ball goes further!

Tips On Golf Clubs
Don't grip the club too tightly. A tight grip inhibits a smooth swing and follow-though. Also, keep the grips on your clubs in good condition. Worn grips force you to hold the club too tightly. Replace the grips on your clubs as they get worn and smooth. When first learning the grip, keep a club around the house and practice gripping and regripping the club a few minutes each day. Remember to keep fingers secure and arms relaxed.

Driving Irons Golf
All golfers should use standard length clubs unless he or she is short or tall. Standard length clubs allow players to hit the ball on center a higher percentage of the time, thus increasing distance and accuracy. In recent years, light weight Titanium driver heads and Ultralight graphite shafts have extended driver playing lengths from a standard 43-431/2" to 44-46". This is good news and bad news. The good news is, when you increase length, you will increase distance. The longer the club, the more club head speed generated , thus more distance. The bad news is, the longer the club the more difficult it is to control, thus less accuracy. To put this into perspective, the following information will be helpful. A driver hit on center at 43" = 250 yds. 43 1/2"= 262 yds. 44" = 270 yds. 44 1/2" = 275 yds. 45" = 275-280 yds. As you can see a significant increase in distance is achieved up to 44". After 44", distance increases only a minimal amount . CONCLUSION - It is not worth sacrificing accuracy for the minimal amount of distance gained past 44". Keep driver playing lengths to 44" or less
Improve your golf clubs with new golf shafts from our online store.
Keep the left wrist in a flat position in relation to the back of the left forearm and back of left hand. This will allow the wrist to hinge naturally, not break, which will allow the club to go back only as far as the shoulders turn. Practice this drill daily, and before you know it your muscles will get conditioned and trained to stretch further under control to create the arc you desire without overswinging. Going to parallel is not the answer to solid shot making, and power. Distance is the speed of the lower body pulling the speed of the motion of your left arm corresponding together to launch the ball towards the target.

Golf Putting Tips To Help You Make More Putts Consistently
By: Mary Chillders
Putting is one of the most difficult parts of the game of golf but if you can master it you can make a big difference at lowering your scores. Most players are actually naturally pretty effective at putting. If you see kids putt you will find that many tend to putt very well even without receiving any kind of lessons.
Most golfers struggle at putting when they start being overly concerned by putting mechanics. Developing a good putting stroke does matter so be sure to learn it well. Maybe take a putting lesson from a local golf pro. One useful thing to keep in mind about putting mechanics is to ensure that the golf ball is directly below your eyes.
You can check for this by holding a golf ball at eye level and then let it drop and see if it makes contact with the ball that is in the normal position of your putting stance. There a lot of different putters that come in many different sizes and shapes. The important thing is to pick the putter that you feel the most comfortable with.
Keep in mind that putting really is more an art than a science, sometimes you will feel like you did everything right and the ball still does not go in the hole. Remember that there are many variables you have no control over that could have caused a putt to miss so do not beat yourself up all the time.
Maintaining confidence levels is very important to help you become the best putter you can be. You need to think of yourself as a good putter and develop the skill of forgetting your missed putts. Instead focus on the putts you did make, this will help to boost your confidence level as a putter.
A large number of putters doubt their ability to determine the speed on longer putts. A lot of golfers think that this is some special gift that only a few players have. The truth is that we all have good feel and touch as long as you trust your natural ability and do not doubt it. Make sure that you hit your putts without consciously thinking about putting mechanics.
As you are about to make contact with your putt it is important to focus your mind on the target you have selected. You want to reduce your thoughts as much as possible and simply allow your mind and body to make the best stroke possible. Do not start doubting your read or your stroke as you are about to hit the putt and avoid any thoughts of past missed putts. Follow some of these strategies to help you develop into a solid putter.

Golf Equipment And Training Aids
Although they might look somewhat similar, the mechanics of hitting a bunker shot are different than those used to play a chip shot from grass. In the sand, its actually advantageous to allow the clubhead to pass your hands past impact. This move encourages a higher, softer shot by increasing the clubhead speed and amount of spin that can be created. Due to the unstable nature of sand, think of these shots as more handsy than most others in golf.

The key to hitting the ball farther with the modern driver and golf ball (which spins much less off of a flat face than balls of the past) is high launch combined with a low spin rate. Our goal is to get enough spin to achieve lift, while minimizing (hopefully eliminating) drag.

Torque It Up!
A good backswing creates torque and is achieved by rotating the body away from the ground using the feet as an anchor. Except for unusually flexible players, the knees, hips, core, back and shoulders should all be used to create torque. Once you get the feel of creating leverage against the ground, your power will increase significantly.

Free Turn
The lower body should serve to support the movement of the upper body by leading the backswing. Flexed and relaxed, the legs are able to be moved by the rotation of the upper body, in no way inhibiting the turn. While the legs don't initiate the backswing, they contribute to the wind up of the body against the ground. A good thought is to imagine the legs as braces that connect you to the ground.

The Truth About Impact
Looking at the two pictures below, there's no doubting the differences between the proper address and impact positions. But while the correct impact position is obviously extremely important, it's impossible to isolate this one moment of the swing through manipulation. Instead, you have to understand and apply the proper mechanics to create the correct look and feel at impact. It's no coincidence that a proper-looking impact position tends to create solid shots.

Yardage Has Been Lost
The downside of this shot-making decision is that yardage has been lost and, therefore, a possible birdie opportunity has been missed because there is still a fair amount of ground to be made up before the putting surface can be reached. The solution is to hit the ball so that it bends around the trees at the right moment and makes a greater distance down the fairway, resulting in an approach shot much nearer the hole. The skill called for here is to draw the ball, hitting it initially on a path to the right before it curves round to the left, avoiding the trees and leaving a more desirable lie.

The overall contour of the green can be assessed from 50-100 yards out. It's a fact that a ball will roll away from mountains and towards the ocean; so if there is a hill near the green the ball will roll away from it. If there is a lake near the green the ball will roll toward it.

Posture, Posture, Posture
By: John Hinds, PT
Stand up straight, Sit up straight. How many times did you hear that growing up? Good posture is important for many reasons, not the least of which is confidence and self-esteem. Although most parents probably didnt have golf in mind, proper posture also aligns the body in a way that promotes the most efficient movement patterns with the least amount of stress. Our bodys framework, the skeleton, and the muscles that control movement are engineered to work most efficiently when aligned correctly.
Take the spine as an example. When looking at it from a side view there are 3 natural curves, one each in the neck (cervical), mid back (thoracic) and low back (lumbar) areas. These curves are there for a reason. It is in this posture that the spine, the ligaments and the muscles supporting it, are best able to absorb and distribute force and provide stability and strength. When flexing, extending, twisting, side bending or any combination of those (as in the golf swing), you want to maintain a posture that will optimize efficient movement patterns and performance as much as possible. The more we deviate from the ideal posture, the more other areas have to compensate and inconsistency, fatigue and injury will eventually result.
Golf includes both static and dynamic postures. We are static at address but dynamic throughout the backswing, downswing and follow-through. Your posture at address dictates how efficiently you will move throughout the rest of the swing, from your ankles, knees and hips to the trunk, shoulders and head. Good posture at address, and the ability to maintain* proper posture throughout the swing, promotes efficient movement and allows for a more reliable axis of rotation throughout the golf swing which then permits more precise coordination of the legs and arms with our core; compensations that result in mis-hits are minimized and a more reliable and powerful swing realized. For instance, if your back is rounded and your shoulders forward, your spinal and shoulder rotation will be limited and power compromised.
Proper posture must also be practiced during your workouts and daily activities. For most golf specific exercises, its not about how much weight you can lift but about the quality of the movement; focus on your posture, technique, balance and coordination when performing a movement. During all exercises, especially with a sport specific movement pattern, it is important to establish proper posture prior to and maintain it during the exercise. A quick checklist prior to each exercise might include, posture, engage, perform.
a. Posture includes keeping your shoulders back, chest out, getting into position to perform the exercise and whenever possible complete the exercise in your golf stance or address posture.
b. Engage your abdominals/trunk muscles in a neutral spine posture prior to and during the exercise. This can be accomplished by pulling your belly button in towards your spine and making a hard s sound so that all abs and some back muscles engage. This acts to stabilize your spine and promote more efficient movement.
c. Perform the movement.
So if you want a more reliable golf swing and more consistent scoring, posture is a fundamental that cannot be overlooked. Proper posture at address sets the tone for the rest of the swing and promotes a more efficient, consistent golf swing. The ability to maintain your posture throughout the swing is one of the keys to a more consistent and repeatable swing. Optimal flexibility and strength enable you to get into and maintain your posture throughout the swing and serve as the building blocks for stability, balance, coordination and power. Not everybody is going to have perfect posture, but the closer you are the less you will compensate and the less likely an injury will occur.
*Before you send constructive criticism, I realize that posture at impact, with regards to shoulder tilt, hips and spine angle will be different from your set up posture, but on the whole, posture at the ankles, knees, hips and spine need to be maintained for consistent, reliable contact.
John Hinds is a golfer and licensed Physical Therapist specializing in Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation, Conditioning and Injury Prevention. Tips On Golf Equipment
On the downswing is where the key is. YOUR HEAD MUST REMAIN BEHIND THE BALL AT IMPACT. If you look at a face-on picture of any good player in the history of the game, they all have their head behind the ball at impact. You can even see in players like Nick Faldo and Greg Norman, that they actually move their head to the right to start the downswing. This just creates a more powerful, underneath, impact position. If you get your head moving laterally left BEFORE you strike the ball, you basically have no chance. You will be way steep, way over the top, and way far from hitting a good shot!

In addition to the left arm and chest, movement of the shoulders and back should also contribute to the finish of a powerfully coiled backswing. Dont ever begin your backswing by lifting your arms or rolling your wrists by themselves.

Golf Swing Trainers Are A Dime A Dozen
By: Trent
The golf training aid market is a booming market. Golfers are rabid and will pay any amount of money in hopes to play better golf. There is a new golf swing trainer coming out every month it seems like!
I am not against the use of training aids, but am a little skeptical with all the promises some of them make during their commercials or in their print ads. They all promise more distance, accuracy and lower scores.
There are several "tried-and-true" golf swing trainers I still use today that I got over 8 years ago. They are very effective and great to go back to if your swing goes south on you, but some of the newer ones are hokey and not effective.
The most important thing to look at is what the swing trainer does. Is it close to actual movement of a golf swing? Does it seem logical for your golf swing fault? Is it reasonably priced? Can you try it first before you buy it?
There are several out there right now that do not mimic the golf swing and ingrain poor swing mechanics and improper muscle memory habits. I will not bad-mouth that they are, but if it doesn't closely resemble a mechanically sound golf swing, it is not worth spending the money on.
Results! The bottom line!
In the end...did it improve your particular swing fault? Were you able to take it to the course and actually make good swings for 18 holes? So many times golfers buy these golf swing trainers, use them a couple of times, and never see results.
You cannot ever blame the training aid if you don't use it!
Like anything...do it consistently to give it a fair chance. Make a point to use it daily at first. Most of things swing trainers can be used right in your home or even your office, so it's very convenient to use.

Tips About Golf Club
You cant fire a gun unless you pull the trigger, right? A similar concept also applies to the golf swing, which also usually requires a trigger move to get the body moving. Now, not everyone has a trigger, some manage to swing well from a static position to a dynamic position. But for the rest of us who often find confusion when it comes to where to start the golf swing, a trigger move can help you start swinging in a fluid and consistent manner.

Heel shots, scoobies, go rights, or the dreaded "S" word are caused by one thing -- "coming over the top." Coming over the top or swinging across your downward swingpath is perhaps the most common swing fault in golf. The path or arc of the golf swing should be circular (about 45 degrees) on the backswing and a little less circular (about 43 degrees) on the downswing. That variance in plane is called swinging inside. A great cure for coming over the top is to let your right shoulder (for R/H players) come UNDERNEATH your chin on your downswing. You may also feel that you are hitting the ball (in baseball terms) to right field. Dropping your right shoulder will free up the club to extend out toward your target and eliminate the possibility of Mr. Scoobie!

There are a number of possible reasons for hitting behind the ball. If you are not shifting your weight properly on the downswing, from the back leg to the front leg, your swing will bottom out before the club gets to the ball. Also, if you do not keep your head steady, you do not know where your swing will bottom out. Also, if you do not keep your leading arm reasonably straight, the arc of your swing will vary, so you can improve your consistency by focusing on these 3 areas.

Beginners Guide to Golf Putting Training
By John Davenport
Putting has been called as the most individualized of all golf strokes and there is no specific right or wrong way to putt. However, a quick analysis of some of the most successful putters on the circuit will show that they share certain characteristics in common. Young golfers can follow these traits and develop their own successful putting stroke. Here, continuous and regular practice plays an important part and is the key to become a successful putter. On average putting accounts for more than 40% of all strokes on the golf course. Therefore a significant part of your practice time should be devoted to putting. Practice basic golf putting drills regularly and you will soon be putting confidently.
The next stage after you have developed confidence is to find a golf putting practice partner. You will not only have company on the course but his/her presence will ensure a spirit of competition which will be mutually beneficial. This way you can have fun as well as learn at the same time. In fact it is the easiest way to improve your score. It's best to practice it after your round. Whenever you have time during the week, stop at the course after work. You will usually find the putting green waiting to welcome you. Here is a golf putting tip. Regular practice every week helps to reduce tension and removes a big cause of putting problems.
How to Putt
Take your position with your eyes on the ball. The shoulders and the face of the putter should be square to the target line. The ball should be placed just off your instep. Adopt a steady putting stance with your body weight leaning on the left side. Start your stroke with a slow takeaway and follow through with your putter down the line in the direction of your intermediate target and accelerate your stroke. Here is a golf putting tip. Adopt a shortened backswing for a better accelerating stroke and follow-through.
Remember that practice is the key to developing a successful putting stroke. In order to become a successful putter you must adopt correct technique and follow it up with regular golf putting drills.

Snap It For More Power. The powerful tension built up in the backswing needs to be unleashed into the ball. Before the club finishes at the top, the body must begin moving toward impact with the arms and club lagging behind (the body should drag the arms and club, not vice versa). The unwinding body should stop sharply before contact, whipping the arms and club powerfully into impact.
Improve your golf day with a new gas golf cart.
Fat Shots
Hitting the ground before the ball, or "fat shots" is a very common problem that can lead to injury. This is caused by either coming into the ball too steeply, and/or decelerating the club head as you hit the ball. Proper weight shift is important and keeping your right shoulder back on the downswing (opposite for left handers) is crucial. There is a tendency to throw the right shoulder ahead as you come down creating an outside in steep club path. Focus on swinging more around your body to remedy this. A good drill is to strap your upper arms to your body and hit balls. This makes it impossible to throw the shoulder forward. Don't forget to accelerate through the ball. When you slow down at the bottom of your swing, you will hit it fat every time.

5 Golf Putting Grips
By John Davenport
Putting generally consumes 50 percent of the strokes in a round which is about half of your golf score. Putting should therefore get more attention in practicing and preparing for play. Many top golfers therefore devote much of their practicing time to golf putting practice.
Putting grips
The putter may be gripped in many ways. The golf putting grip basically stabilizes the left wrist so that it does not get bent toward the hole during the follow through of the stroke. If you are struggling on the greens then changing putting grip could do wonders for you. Before you get started, you need to learn how to hold the putter correctly in your hands. Keep the putter flat and diagonally across the fleshy pads of the palm. You need to ensure the putter shaft runs in a straight line with your forearm almost as if it is an extension of your forearm. You can try any of these popular styles.
1. This golf putting grip is popularly known as the Traditional Overlap and is the most popular of our putting grips. Place your left hand to the putter grip and then just below rest your right hand around the putter grip. Connect both of your hands by lifting the index finger of your left hand and wrapping it over the fingers of the right.
2. The Two Fingers Down grip as the name suggest starts by covering both hands around the putter grip in a way that it rests in the palms. Then lift the index finger of the right hand and the left hand and place them so they point straight down the side of the putter grip.
3. The claw is the most unusual golf putting grip. This style of putting grip has saved many golfers trapped in putting crisis. Like the traditional way you should start by placing your left hand on the putter grip. Then place your right hand on top of your putter grip. Finally hook your hand in position by wrapping your right thumb around.
4. The left below right grip has been a popular choice in recent years. It is basically the reverse of traditional golf putting grip. This grip suggests placing your right hand at the top of the putter grip, and your left hand at the bottom. Link both hands by wrapping the index finger of the right hand across the fingers of the left hand.
5. The box grip is a very new style of golf putting grip that has come up in the last couple of years. Place both hands side by side, level with each other on the grip, so that the shoulders are level. Next place your left hand at the top of the grip with the index finger running down the side of the grip. Then put your right hand an inch below so that the hands together form a box shape.

Golf Stance And Its Physical Requirements
By: Mike Pederson
Golf stance is one of the most ignored terms and issues in the golf swing and yet the golf stance dictates the success of every golf swing you make.
When golfers think of golf stance, they dont realize how hard it is to maintain over 18 holes (four and a half hours). Just take a look at the position your body is in during your set up. There are many physical issues taking place, even though it is a static position at the start.
Lets go over the physical requirements of the golf stance right now.
Bend At Hips To Address Golf Ball
To achieve this initial movement takes strength and flexibility in not only the lower back, but the hamstrings and core muscle groups. If these muscle groups are limited, you will have a very difficult time achieving this simple move.
Flex In The Knees
A combination of bending at the hips and knees allows you to get to the ball. The shorter the club, the more the bend at both the hips and knees. If your quadriceps are weak, you will have a very difficult time maintaining the proper knee flex therefore causing you to create in improper golf stanceresulting in mishits and lack of distance.
Ankle Flexion
Take a look at the ankle joint of any golfer. It is definitely bent (flexed) to accommodate the bending of the knees and hips. If your calf muscles are weak/or tight, you will find it very uncomfortable to stay down at the ball. I see so many golfers with tight calf muscles and they never even knew it.
Spine Extension (Erectness)
This is a BIGGY! How many times have you seen the golfer (maybe even you) in his/her golf stance with the dread camels back? This is very common among older golfers and is a KILLER in the golf swing. I could (and probably will) write a complete article on this physical limitation. But the bottom line is a rounded (weak) upper spine will dramatically hinder your ability to make a full backswing. Result: very short drives and a lot of embarrassment.
I just briefly covered just a couple of physical requirements of the golf stance, but I hope you know see the importance of addressing your physical limitations to achieve the end result.
Longer drives, lower scores and beating the pants off your golfing buddies! Pay more attention to your golf stance!

CARTS- You can walk or you can ride. When you ride you have no control as to what kind of cart you get, gas-powered or electric. Just be sure you follow the 90 degree rulethat means to ride the cart on the cart path, and when you are 90 degrees to your ball, you turn the cart and ride over the fairway to your ball. On some courses you can only ride the cart path throughout the golf course, so ask the golf shop what the policy is. As you get close to the green, there usually will be arrows showing that the cart must not get any closer and for you to ride the cart back to the cart path. Carts are not to be ridden close to the green unless you have a special flag on your cart which means that you have shown you have some disability which allows you to ride the cart as close to the green as possible.

3 Golf Swing Tips For Instant Results
By: Dave Powell
Are simple golf swing tips a waste of time? Well, to improve your golf game there is no substitute for getting proper instruction from your local pro. He can help you develop sound technique and work out a practice regime to instil these swing fundamentals. However, quick golf swing tips also have their place in helping your golf. They can sometimes just help spark your game into life - a certain new swing thought may just help get your golf swing on the right plane, or a small change in your set up can have a major impact on your impact position.
Here are 3 simple golf swing tips that could just make that small but vital difference to your golf swing:
In golf a good shoulder turn is important. But how that shoulder turn is created is often misunderstood, and as a result leads to poor ball striking. Golfers sometimes make the mistake of thinking it is the length of the backswing that generates power. In an attempt to make a long backswing they allow their left heel to come up too far off the ground and their hips to turn too much. While this action may create turn, it does not produce coil. The main role of the backswing should be to stretch, or coil the muscles. It is then the release of that coiling action in the downswing that helps create power. The length of your backswing should be determined by how much coil you can create, not how far back you can swing the club.
Allowing your chin to rest against your chest at address makes it impossible to swing your left arm across your upper body in the backswing. When the natural path of the shoulders is blocked, it encourages you to pick the club up too steeply with your hands. The result is little or no weight transfer on to your right side, creating a backswing that is far too narrow. The resulting downswing becomes too steep and you usually end up chopping down on the ball instead of swinging through. Keep your chin up and allow your left arm to move freely across your chest. This will enable you to create the full wide arc required to strike the ball correctly.
When under pressure, many golfers make the understandable mistake of snatching the club away too quickly in their backswing. This gets the hands and body moving at different speeds and destroys the swings natural rhythm. Here is one of those simple mental golf swing tips which if used should help slow down the start of your backswing. At address, imagine there is a ball and chain attached to the clubhead. In order to start the club back you have to drag that ball along with it. Not only will this image help slow down you take-away, it will also make it easier for the rest of your body to work at the same pace as your hands.
One of these golf swing tips may help to instantly kick start your golf swing into action, but, remember that you should only have one (or two maximum) golf swing thoughts while you play.

How To Have A 5 Simple & Proven Ways To Improve Your Golf On The Course
By: Eddy Kong
When you go out to play a game of golf you're hoping for a good round. Do you? I bet you would especially amateur golfers out there.
I know many golfers do, and I have some question for you:-
Question 1 : How often does your outcome match what you hoped for? Not as what you have expected for, right?
Question 2: Do you usually shoot the scores you had envisioned before you teeing off? Again not what you want, right?
Question 3: If not, do you ever study where and how you could have saved strokes and avoided those blow up holes, without losing very badly.
I've got 5 easy and proven tips for you to implement immediately that will shave 4-6 or even more strokes off your score the next time you play. Give them a try and see what happens, but now I am only to include the first two:-
Here they are:
1) First off you've got to put the proper fuel in your body before you leave home. I mean eat something not too heavy that gives you enough energy. Most golfers don't give it a second thought.
They either don't eat at all before they leave home or they eat something that is not going to give them the long-term energy they're hoping for.
So whether it's lunch or breakfast before you leave you need to consume a complex carbohydrate and a good protein source.
This combination will warrant the best use of your energy for the long haul.
An example for breakfast would be a bowl of oatmeal and a couple of eggs with a piece of fruit or a juice.
For lunch you could have a turkey sandwich on whole wheat with a piece of fruit. Lot's of lettuce on the sandwich and try to avoid mayonnaise or butter.
2) The second tip is to properly warm up your body before you even hit your first ball. I see so many golfers show up 5 minutes before tee time, hack a few balls and head to the first tee.
I mean doing some simple stretching exercise before injure your hamstring.
Those golfers are headed for a double bogey right off the bat - but hey they're just getting "warmed up" right?
A better approach is to give yourself at least 30 minutes before your tee time.
First do some dynamic (movement oriented) stretches to prepare your body to perform.
Things like arm circles, partial squats, toe touches, etc. Then take some half swings with a 7-pound iron club.
Now after that you're ready to hit some wedges. You'll find with this approach your hits on the range will be much better, which will build your confidence.
3) Drink lots of water even before you leave your house. Try to consume up to a gallon of water before you get to the course.
This will help you absorb and digest your pre-game meal and hydrate your muscles for optimal performance. This is important and should not be overlook, otherwise the consequences is adverse.
Don't take this lightly. Dehydration causes energy loss, lack of focus and concentration and fatigue later in the round.
And remember, that's before you even come to the course. Once you get there, you should be drinking water every hole. Don't forget about it.
4) Don't wait till you get tight to stretch on the course. You should be constantly moving your body and stretching your joints while you play.
I see and hear too many golfers complaining of tight lower backs or shoulders during the round.
What amazes me is that with all that complaining they do nothing about it. Why? Think of your body as a machine.
If the machine starts to break down - fix it. I mean stretch those areas while you're playing. You'll see a big difference in your swing mechanics late in the round.
5) Snack while you play. No I don't mean the full meal but having mini snacks bar that most people taking before heading for the gym.
When you supply your body with the proper nutrients your energy levels stay balanced and you will avoid those mental lapses late in the round.
How many times have you had a good score only to blow up late in the round? I'll bet more than a couple of times. I know I have. Treat your body like a Ferrari not a Ford Pinto. You only 1 body if you want to win.
I hope you enjoy this series. Stay tuned for more golf ideas and tips.

Tips About Indoor Putting Green
The trajectory of a golf ball and the distance it travels depends on its initial trajectory, speed and spin, as well as what it's moving through (air). The air is not always the same. It varies in temperature, pressure, humidity and density. If there were no air whatsoever, the golf ball would not travel far. Likewise, if a ball is hit in air with no spin, it will not travel far.

To develop a simple, comfortable and effective grip. Your grip is the foundation of your golf swing. Make sure your grip is comfortable. It is important to develop a neutral grip that requires no compensations during the swing. The orthodox position with the V.s of both hands (formed by the forefinger and the thumb) pointing between the chin and right shoulder is a good place to start. Very few good players have grips with the V.s pointing very far from this position. If you want a little stronger grip move the left hand over to the right a little.

Come to the Golf Course with Strategy in the Bag
Every good golfer knows that golf is not all about mechanics. There is a strategy to playing the game, and the golfer who develops the best strategy has a much better chance of coming out on top. There are ways to prepare yourself before you get to the courseand ways to react to conditions within a roundthat will save you trouble and give you an advantage most golfers fail to seize.

Hitting behind the ball or too high on the ball.
This is often caused by swaying during the swing. Any side-to-side or up and down head movement should be avoided. To get the right feel, hit some practice shots with feet together. During your weight shift, concentrate on keeping the weight On your right foot on the inside of your foot. Check your progress by taking practice swings with sun behind you and watching your shadow. Don't let the clubface get ahead of your hands at impact. To avoid hitting chips and pitches fat: Don't sole the club at address. Use an open, narrow stance. Keep arms connected to chest and rotate body rather than sliding hips laterally and jabbing at the ball with your hands. Focus eyes on front of ball, with weight on front foot and wrists ahead of ball at address and through impact. Be sure to make a complete follow-through.

by Gordon Petten
Gifts, as is known are matter of expressing intimacy and are exchanged without price. Golf gifts are no exception. Being a golfer when you think of gifting something to anyone the first thing which will come to your mind will surely be the golf gift. Usually golf gifts are given to potential young golfers to encourage them to play more and more golf.
You have to choose perfect golf gifts for these young beginners considering their style. You have plenty of golf articles and accessories to choose from. To name some of golf gifts they are golf clubs, golf irons, golf bags, golf knickers, classic ball case etc. IN the succeeding paragraphs we will elaborate on importance of each golf gift.
In my opinion golf books are the best golf gifts for beginners. A beginner learns lot of things about game and adds to his/her knowledge of the game by reading golf books
Next come golf lessons. These lessons help potential beginners to decide whether he/she really wants to take the game or he/she likes the golf or not. Golf lessons, golf books and CDs/DVDs are excellent golf gifts for beginners.
Many beginners start playing golf with hired or borrowed golf clubs. Usually, golf clubs are considered as matter of personal choice. However, one may not be willing to purchase expensive golf clubs at the beginning. For such people first set of golf club is considered as best gift amongst other golf gifts. Remember to present these golf clubs in a golf bag.
There are number of golf accessories available in markets which as categorized as golf gifts. Golf gloves, ball markers and tees, though some what expensive, are nice golf gifts. Depending to you affordability and intimacy to the person you are going to present golf gifts you may like to present a full set of golf starter kit to a potential beginner.
Golf balls are also the popular articles for presenting as golf gifts. Beginners are not concerned about the type, compression and construction of these golf balls. You can choose golf balls personalizing with nickname, name or customs logo of the beginner. Only disadvantage of gifting such golf balls is that if the ball is lost the person to whom you have gifted it may get upset.
Golf shoes are other option from the golf gifts. Golf shoes are basic requirement for playing golf. Choosing a right shoe that will be fitting and providing comfort to the person you are gifting is not an easy task. Remember you have alternate option of gift certificate. Instead of presenting golf shoes as golf gifts, present a gift certificate and allow him/her to purchase shoes of his/her choice.
Golf courses are considered to be one of the expensive ventures of sports due to their fees structure. To avoid such expensive venture, driving ranges are considered to be best alternative. Presenting a membership of driving range may be the best among golf gifts for a beginner.
Ball tokens, golf gift certificates and 10 bucket pass are the other golf gifts available. Golf gifts are considered to be a motivating factor for beginners.
Golf Grip kits are a common phenomenon amongst golfers. Golfers are always choosy about their golf grip kits. Golf grip kits consist of tape, instruction book and a CD or DVD containing photos about use of golf equipments. Usually, golf grip kits are provided with golf irons and golf grips. Golf grip kits provide you all information like specification, maintenance guide and instruction about the handling of the equipment. Golf grip kits are of utmost importance for the beginners are they get the required information of golf equipments through these golf grip kits.
Leg Angle
The lower leg should angle away from the ball at setup. This helps the body weight move off the heels and into the balls of the feet. This is an athletic position that really works.

Many swing faults occur from an improper setup. This can cause unnecessary adjustments during the swing. Taking care to position the ball, feet, hips and shoulders properly ensures building a good swing foundation. Testing has shown golfers with open stances show no more tendency to slice than golfers with closed stances. The open stance may give the golfers a little more opportunity to slice, because it allows a little more freedom in the downswing and follow-though. The square stance is used by most successful golfers. Beginners should start with a square stance. As you advance, you can experiment with the advantages of other stances. Avoid extreme stances. Experiment to find the stance that works best for you. Take care to set up consistently on all normal shots.

Golf Equipment: Gearing up Properly for Golf
by Glenn McDonald
Like any other sports, golf requires that you be geared up correctly to be able to properly play the game. This article will give you an idea of basic golf equipment one requires to be able to learn and play golf.
For starters, the basic golf equipment is a golf ball. Golf balls are dimpled tiny balls, use in to play golf. They are dimpled to reach farther length when driven by golf clubs.
Another important golf equipment is a golf club or golf driver. Golf drivers come in different varieties. This is because a golf course has different landscapes and different golf clubs are required to make the proper drive. Depending on the landscape, either sand, grass or cement, a golf club is essential to make the perfect drive. Professional golfers usually have a bag or two of golf clubs to cater to their golf needs. Most golf stores and sports equipment store sell golf clubs. Some golf clubs are sold in sets while other are sold individually.
To protect your golf equipment, such as your golf club, a golf bag golf club cover is essential. A golf bag will, of course, hold your golf club in one place and will make it easier for your caddy to bring your many golf clubs. Golf bags can also hold golf balls and other golf equipment like water bottle to quench your thirst while under the sun or extra shirt or your regular shoes. On the other hand, a golf club cover covers the edge of your golf club. This is done so to protect your golf club from unwanted scratches and dents. Dents can cause your drive to go from ok to bad. Dents in golf clubs can affect the drive of your golf ball. With this golf equipment, you can take care of the state of your club and your game.
One golf equipment that you need to invest on is a good pair of golf shoes. Golf shoes are different from usual rubber shoes or walking shoes. Golf shoes are created to walk on greens - the type where the sport is played. Golf shoes usually have pointed rubber under the soles to grip the earth and sand under your feet. This way, unnecessary shaking or moving is avoided. This is important because shaking can cause you to not hit the golf ball or to hit the golf ball in the wrong direction. If you plan to play professional golf a good pair of golf shoes is a necessary golf equipment to add up to your list. Choose one that is sturdy yet comfortable enough for you to walk into. Golf is a sport that requires walking from one hole to another or to where your ball landed (you can not use golf carts on the greens) and thus, if your golf shoes are uncomfortable, you would have a hard time concentrating on your game.
A golf equipment usually provided by most golf courses (aside from the golf ball) is the tee. The tee is the tiny pin like thing that you punch to the ground to stand your ball into. The tee is use in teeing off (the start of your first drive) thus the name.
The most amazing golf equipment ever created (for me, that is) is the golf cart. Golf carts can take you from one hole to the other, though as I said earlier they are not allowed on the greens, they still lessen the burden of having to walk under the hot sun. This golf equipment can be acquired from golf courses. Golf players are usually made to use golf equipment such as this to give them a better and easier time playing the sport.
Many specialty shops and sport shops offer golf equipment. The Internet is also a good source of golf equipment. Second hand golf equipment are even auctioned off the Internet, if you are on a tight budget. Check out your local golf shop, sports shop, specialty shops, E-bay or Yahoo! for your golf equipment needs.

Used Golf Irons
There are two important golf swing tips to be made about your grip. The first is do not hold the club to tightly. If you're a beginner you might feel as if the club might fly out of your hands if you don't grip it tightly. Don't worry it won't, this is one of the important golf improvement techniques. By not holding the club to tightly you ensure the club face can come around and be square to the ball at impact, holding to tightly can cause a slice or hook in your shots.
Get greater distance on your drives with great Precept golf balls from our store.
The key to hitting the ball farther with the modern driver and golf ball (which spins much less off of a flat face than balls of the past) is high launch combined with a low spin rate. Our goal is to get enough spin to achieve lift, while minimizing (hopefully eliminating) drag.

Post impact, your head will follow the rest of your weight to the left side. You don't want to hang back through the entire shot and snap your spine in half, or at least finish in a reverse-C. Just remember that a good impact position will make it easier for this natural head movement to happen.
